Nella presente pubblicazione si ricostruisce l. a. figura del pioniere dell'arte contemporanea, iniziatore dell'astrattismo, ma anche teorico del linguaggio artistico: Vasilij Kandinskij (1866-1944). Si formò all'Accademia di belle arti di Monaco. Nei primi nel Novecento pose le basi teoriche e sperimentali di una pittura "non oggettiva", liberata dalla figurazione con l'esposizione del suo primo acquerello astratto e il suo saggio Lo spirituale nell'arte.
